10,000 steps a day
In Cover Girl Confidential, Addison stays slim by using the 10,000 steps a day plan. (Though because she's an actress, who must be really really thin, she takes 20,000!)
I'm a big believer in this plan though I don't, ahem, currently do it.
I read somewhere that the average thin woman takes 10,000 steps a day and the average overweight woman takes 5,000 steps a day. I wore the pedometer thinking I might hit in the middle 7500 perhaps?
Not so much. Let's just say: It explained A LOT.
Here's five ways to add some steps to your life.
1) if you have kids who play sports, pace while you watch them practice.
2) pace while talking on the phone.
3) Make a lot of trips to the copier. (No one ever complains that you make too many trips to the copier!)
4) Park far away.
5) pick some place that is too far to walk and then prove that it actually isn't.
(I am not a doctor. My fitness advice is worth next to nothing. It is not a substitute for actual medical advice. I mean, seriously, look at me!)
