It may seem hard to develop a character who is an iconic modern princess without drawing a little on Princess Diana, but my fictional princess has hardly anything in common with the real Diana. Princess Isabella is better educated, older and more sophisticated when she weds. She and her husband are a better match and they have a happier marriage. Princess Isabella also picks confidants who know how to keep secrets. All in all, I guess, she's a little like Princess Diana would have been if things had only gone better for her.
But she's also been influenced by other modern princesses. For more about the royal women who influenced Princess Isabella, please click here. [Close
